creator crew: megan lynch
welcome back to our ‘creator crew’ series, where we chat with kiwi creatives we love to pieces, chatting today with megan lynch.
megan lynch grew up in dunedin, though has now left us for australia (we’ll forgive her though, she’s a kiwi creative at heart).
the pieces she creates are insanely detailed and perfect for any space in your house - the black & white dot work goes with any vibe, without fail. when she joined young. collective though, she tried to tell us that her work wasn’t good enough and that she only created for her friends… we weren’t gonna have that. we convinced her that her talent was something everyone would love, and we were right!
over the time she’s been on young. collective, megan has bought an iPad and started digital art too (far out, the talent), and her prints have been loved by many a dunedin student looking for decoration for their walls.
we’d like to thank her for being so inspiring: she shows that your hobby can be something you love, and something that others love (and buy!) too. have a read about megan below, and find her on instagram to keep up to date x
When I create I’m usually...
“at home on a cosy Saturday, probably procrastinating doing the other important things on my to-do list”
I’m usually listening to...
“A good podcast! She's on the Money, or Second Life are personal faves”
Being a kiwi creative is awesome to me because...
“as a kiwi expat living overseas, I can show people the incredible work of everyone on Young. Collective and show off what incredible talent there is hiding away in little old NZ.”
I often prefer... drawing on my iPad
over... pen on paper
because... it's so much cleaner! No mess to clean up, and don't have to find storage in my Sydney apartment for giant drawings

something extra you should know about me:
I only really started drawing because I wanted to fill my walls with art but also wanted something original. I love the creative process and it’s just evolved over the last few years into a hobby.
